Terms of Service

By accessing or using Audiote ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

The Service is operated by Audiote. These terms govern your use of the web application at app.audiote.com and the marketing website at audiote.com.

Audiote is a cloud audio recording service that provides in-browser recording, audio upload, automated transcription, speaker detection, AI summaries, and note-taking functionality.

You must sign in with a Google account to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account. You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.

You agree not to:

• Record conversations without the consent of all parties where required by law
• Upload or record content that you do not have rights to
• Use the Service for any illegal purpose
• Attempt to reverse engineer, hack, or disrupt the Service
• Use the Service to harm, harass, or defame others
• Upload malicious files or code
• Circumvent usage limits or quotas
• Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization

You retain ownership of all recordings, transcripts, notes, and other content you create or upload through the Service ("Your Content"). By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and display Your Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to record any individuals captured in your recordings. Many jurisdictions require consent before recording conversations.

We do not claim ownership of Your Content and will not use it for purposes other than operating the Service.

The Service offers a free plan and paid plans. Paid plans are billed on a monthly subscription basis through Stripe. By subscribing to a paid plan, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring monthly basis.

You can cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are provided for partial months.

Prices are stated in US dollars and may be subject to applicable taxes.

Each plan includes a monthly recording allowance measured in hours. Usage resets at the start of each calendar month. Unused allowance does not carry over.

If you reach your monthly limit during an active recording, the recording will be stopped automatically and saved. You can upgrade your plan to immediately resume recording.

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. The Service may experience downtime for maintenance, updates, or reasons beyond our control.

We are not liable for any losses resulting from Service downtime or unavailability.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or if required by law. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before termination except in cases of serious violations.

You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at legal@audiote.com.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

Transcription accuracy is not guaranteed. AI-generated summaries and names may contain errors. You should review transcripts and AI-generated content before relying on them.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, AUDIOTE IS NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR DATA, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.

Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the effective date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
